TECedge staff to deliver "Response to Intervention: A Three-Tier Model for Student Success" at the 2008 ASCD ConferenceJanuary 7 , 2008 -- Cambridge, MA —TECedge staff will be delivering a talk entitled "Response to Intervention: A Three-Tier Model for Student Success" at the 63rd Annual Conference of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), to be held in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Response to Intervention (RtI) practitioners do not wait for students to fail before diagnosing problems and prescribing interventions. The intervention team determines a student's learning discrepancy, offers interventions to remove the discrepancy, and uses curriculum-based measurement (CBM) to monitor the interventions' effectiveness. Seasoned practitioners will share their strategies for implementing RtI including: the intervention team's role and composition; CBM and testing probes to monitor progress; and, how online tools provide continuous, timely, and accurate student performance data.
